CCHS Benefits from Cummins Day of Caring

Friday, August 17, 2018

The dogs and the volunteers that walk them have much nicer grounds to walk on, thanks to the recent efforts of a group of Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant employees who donated 4 hours, on Thursday, August 9th, at the Chautauqua County Humane Society (CCHS).  The employees were participating in the annual Cummins Day of Caring. The group included: Chris Nuhfer, Linda Conklin, Thomas Baase, Sheri Kelsey, Dean Abbey, Elizabeth Nunez, and David Morse. The group was at CCHS from 10:30am to 2:30pm on Thursday, August 9th and spent that time clearing downed branches, and dead trees, as well as mowed overgrowth.  Volunteer Glenn McClaren was also instrumental in the effort by volunteering time the evening before to saw off low branches, and cut dead trees before the group from Cummins Arrived. He also came Thursday afternoon to help the group from Cummins.
